about

Originally released 2004, this album has an enchanting combination of alt rock and pop punk steeped in teenage angst - but not in a way that sounds dated or stale. The opening line of the title track lured me in, and as soon as I heard the "never even there" line I was hooked.

from the TooManyRecords page:

"This is a special one, because this is a band that Matt quite literally grew up with. An iconic act from North Jersey in the mid 2000s, Centralside played sold out shows and won just about every Battle of the Bands that came around. The trio crafted masterful pop punk melodies that get stuck in your head for days, song after song, perfect for group singalongs or rocking out by yourself. Musically this could be put up against any of the great emo/pop-punk bands of the era, but the guys ended up forging more normal career paths rather than pursuing the musician life. That doesn't mean that the music has to live and die in early 2000s New Jersey, however. Matt has loved this album over the years for nostalgic reasons, but when Skyline Tapes approached him about wanting to do a split release (they specialize in hand dipped Cassette Tapes) -- Matt thought that perhaps the album should have a second wind through the label."

Original CD liner notes:
"CentralSide thanks: Larry Kucher for helping us get started on this project, giving us sage advice, and making everything sound great; John Bonaventura and Jack Hoopingarner for doing an unsolicited act of kindness; our parents for not going crazy with all the noise (and money for food); Kevin Karp for making the cover look better than we could have ever done; All the fans who have come to shows and bought this CD, we couldn't do anything without you; Anyone or anything we forgot, we're sure you're special too."
