special thanks to lynn & isabelle

at the beginning of 2022 a friend & I set out to write and release a song every day for a full year. I decided to re-imagine, re-record and remaster 15 of my favorite songs from the project - here they are, enjoy. this album stands as both a sort of personally curated "greatest hits" record as well as a sort of condensed representation of the entire project. I tried to match the original vision as closely as possible while also giving each track the benefit of having more than a day of writing/production put into it. in the end it's still rough in some spots but that's in the spirit of the project.

to be honest - I’m not sure what zweihandr was. some sort of hyperpop manifestation of isolations from a lifetime of internet usage. an attempted musical movement on a dead platform. an art project. a series of feelings encapsulated in little songs. a bunch of webpages counting as tally marks for lost sleep. a gigantic wad of URLs collecting dust in cyberspace. a personification of the crustiest flash games you could find on a defunct website. a musical journal. a slightly more mature way to say “I wish anime was real”. a Rebecca Peake tribute project.

really all of these could be said, and that’s either indicative of trying to do way too much or a statement of the versatility of the project. in any case what resulted of this year-long struggle was an unignorable mountain of sound that I think has some pretty cool moments in it.

every track, even down to the most minuscule, has a little glimpse of what I was going for with the project in it. I hope seeing it all at once makes it make a lot more sense.

much like a diary, this is raw and unfiltered. some of it is bad, some of it is ugly, but all of it is honest. each day is a diary entry, unfiltered and laid before you - my soul on a page, be nice to it.
